Lazy Saturday

It's a lazy day over. Watching Sci-Fi channel and a Tivo'd Dr Who episode.
But I did manage to finally upload some pics to Flickr and update my Ravelry projects, and post here too!

Mittenz

These are from Arlene Williams "Lopi Mitten Pattern".
I followed her needle size, but I should have gone down a size or two.
The fabric is not as dense as I would have liked it to be.
Otherwise it was a pretty easy pattern and fun to knit.

Trio of Mittens

Left pair from Warm Woolies pattern
Center pair - my own pattern mix
Right pair Cinchy Chunky Mittens - a free Ravelry download.

The blue mittens were made with one strand of worsted wt yarn and one strand of Amy Blatt Mohair. I love this combo as the mitts are so soft and warm.

More About The Pink Mitts

The above mittens were knit with one strand of worsted wt and one strand of Dazzleaire.
I discovered Icord thumbs!

So let's move on to my other WIPs!

A Gansey type hat. Pattern from an online friend - not sure if she is going to sell or publish.

Another Hat - but I'm not happy with it.

I just love the original pattern, but not my hat. I feel like frogging it - I don't like my color choices. Then again, I am slowly learning how to knit this intricate stitch and I should just keep plugging along and finish the hat.....

Crocheted Blanket

Still working on the Mile-A-Minute crocheted afghan for my daughter.

Shrug It

This is my Shrug It from One-Skein Wonders

I'm knitting it longer than the pattern and probably making 3/4 length sleeves.

Shawl for the Elders

I have 6 more garter stitch ridges to go! Then I start the edging.

Okay, so I'm a little busy....

Pieces of Eight

My 2nd set of 8 pairs.

Wristers knit of really fast - especially when you knit garter stitch rectangles ; )

My other Wips are holding there own - I work on them a little each day.

I'll have to go round up my 1st set of 8 and take their pics next.

Moving Right Along

Yes I am moving right along on the Mittenz.
I've used my Sideways Mitten pattern to come up with these easy Wristerz.

I decided to knit a rectangle And thanks Lizzie, for encouraging me to do that.

I then added on the thumb part at the end instead of in the middle - seemed easier that way.

You can lengthen by adding more stitches and widen by knitting more rows.

I'll be posting the pattern to my pattern page in a few days but for now here is what I did.

Spring Colors

I must be in the mood for spring colors.
Bright cheery yellow and white for this hat.

The Butterfly Hat

It's a free pattern on the website, but if you are on Ravelry, you can download the free PDF file.

I used odds and ends of worsted wt yarn and only cast on 80 sts with size 6 and 8 needles.

And don't you just love the way the top decreases work out?

I'd like to make another one in some bright varigated yarn.

More Spring Colors

Pink and white wristers.

I am experimenting with my Sideways Mitten pattern and this is my first prototype.

Joan asked me if I short rowed the cuff. Yes I do as you can see the tiny little holes and also by the color changes.

But I was thinking of trying out another way - mabye just knit a garter stitch rectangle (no short rows for the cuffs ) then work the thumb part, then the next garter stitch rectangle.j

OR - I could just knit a big garter stitch rectangle and then add on the short row thumb part at the end.

I have too many ideas just running around in my head!

And I dared to order this pattern because I just HAD to knit one!

More Mittenz!

Here you go! My 7th and 8th pair of mittens.

On the left we have the Original Sideways Mittens and on the left the new version with a longer cuff. I'll be adding the changes to my pattern in a few days. Just a matter of replacing the numbers.

So what's next? I'm not stopping this Mitten Maddnez! Since Muffatees or Wristers count too, I'm going to make 8 pair of them next.

2 Socks on 2 Circs

I'm done! And I am hooked on this method - so easy once you get them started.

Basic Sock Pattern and TLC Essentials Yarn.
