Going Sew Crazy

A Tale of Two Totes
I have been going crazy with the sewing machine and sewing up little tote bags. I found a great online tutorial from Super Eggplant

Found these cool retro fabrics in my stash!

Knitting
It is so hot, that knitting has taken a
back burner for now.
But I was able to churn out another pair
of cute lavender mittens.

And here is how far the Honeymoon Cami
for DD#1 has progressed.

Mittens & Mystery Flower Identified

Well let's not keep everyone waiting LOL!
The mystery pods/flowers in my backyard have been id.

They are Devils Claws or Proboscidea - a wildflower of the Southwestern Desert.

According to this site:

"Devil's claws are one of the most interesting and unusual plants of North America. Although they are relatively little-known to most gardeners, they have been very important in the culture of many Indian tribes."

Now Some Knitting - Another FO
Another pair of sideways garter stitch mittens finished.
Very bad picture - I think it was the lighting.

Bag Lady
I've been busy sewing up bags. Here I am modeling them.

Squares & Square T's

Thought I would post a picture of a few more completed squares.
I really enjoyed knitting the intarsia one and it is good for using up those little balls of yarn.

Well the T-shirt reconstruct is done. Had to redo the neckline because it was not deep enough in front. So I cut it a little lower and now it is a modest tank top from and old T - just for me. Not too long, not too snug and cool for this hot weather we are having.

Mickey Has Been Saved!

Remember the Mickey sweater that was supposed to be made over into a pillow? Well grandson #2 has claimed it until he grows out of it and then it will be made into a pillow for grandson #1.

Looking really cool there!

Catching up on more knitted squares. Gail got my box I sent and I can't wait to see how she combines them with other's squares. I am having so much fun participating in this KAL.
Finished a pair of babysocks and they are so cute!

And doing a bit of sewing. Here is a shot of a t-shirt I am reconstructing. I used a pattern and cut out the pieces from one of my old, old XXL shirts.

Green Today

It's a green day here. DD#1 and GS#2 are visiting today and staying for DD#2's graduation. So she picked out a tank top that she liked for me to knit. It's the Honeymoon Cami over at Knitty.com.
I'm knitting it on #4 needles and using LB Microspun in a lime green.
